For communion worship services, this two-piece set is ideal. The wide-mouth chalice will accommodate the dipping of the bread into the wine for intinction if desired. Not a souvenir, this pottery is created for celebration of the Lord's supper. This stoneware pottery set is finished in our "Bethany" pattern, a very nice combination of gold, white, and lavender incised banding on a chocolate-brown base. The chalice (goblet) is 7 1/2" high with a capacity of 10 oz. and a hand-carved cross in the stem. The paten (plate) is 9 1/2" in diameter. Wheel-thrown, and made of a sturdy high-fired stoneware clay, there is no lead in the glaze and the pottery is safe to use. Also perfect for use in a wedding service or the Christian home, hospital, retreats, Emmaus Walks, etc. Our communionware has been very popular for church use and as gifts for seminary graduates, newly ordained ministers, and for gifts (Welcome, farewell, thank you, etc.) for special clergy friends. Safe to use. Lead-free glazes. Call 1-800-426-7687 TOLL-FREE

For Christian communion celebration in church or at home, this communion set will allow you to share the Eucharist along with a prayer. The 4" opening of the cup (goblet, chalice) allows for intinction (dipping) if desired. The height of the goblet is 5 3/4", and it will hold approx. 10 oz. The cup's cover (small paten) is 4 1/2". The Host paten is 6 1/2" in diameter; the 10 oz. capacity jug (cruet) is 4 1/2" high and is closed with a natural cork stopper. The candle holder is 5 3/4" in diameter and is suitable for a taper or similar candle (you may adapt different size candles as needed by trimming your candle base, or by dripping wax to achieve a secure fit.) The design is called "Otoe" - incised brown and blue banding on a speckled cream base on the cup. Other pieces are glazed in the matching speckled cream. Not a souvenir, this pottery is created for celebration of the Lord's supper. Lent begins early this year, with Ash Wednesday on Feb. 6th, and Easter is on March 23rd. We believe that communion is a unifying element in Christianity. Though practices may vary, the sacrament is basically the same among the Christian family. Hand-crafted, wheel-thrown, not molded.
